Salary : ₦120,000 – ₦250,000 / month
Role Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, proactive Buying Assistant to support procurement and inventory operations for Heart to Cart. You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure products arrive on time, at a good cost, and meet quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
●Identify reliable suppliers for products and packaging (local and international)
●Maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate terms
●Obtain and compare quotes and place purchase orders
●Liaise with suppliers to manage product quality standards
●Coordinate inspections, returns, and replacements for damaged goods
●Visit local markets regularly to source and purchase products
●Create and manage purchase orders
●Monitor inventory levels and forecastre-order needs
●Update inventory records and ensure accuracy
●Keep accurate records of purchases, expenses, and shipping details
●Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping agents, and clearing agents
●Organize and track shipments
●Provide regular updates on lead times, delays, and customs clearance
●Handle international shipping processes and documentation
●Prepare procurement reports (costs, lead times, suppliers)
●Track procurement costs, invoices, and payment schedules
●Maintain vendor documentation and compliance certificates
●Help with import documentation (invoices, packing lists, customs paperwork)
Requirements
●Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (preferred)
●1–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or inventory management (especially in import/retail)Strong knowledge of Lagos local markets and vendor networks
●Excellent negotiation and communication skills
●Proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets
●Good working understanding of import logistics, customs, and shipping processes
●Interest in fashion or style trends is an asset
