Job Description

Role – Heavy Earth Moving Machines (HEMM) Mechanical Engineer
Location – Rivers, Akwa Ibom States
Experience – Minimum of 10 years
Qualification – BSC/HND Mechanical Engineering, Certification in heavy equipment maintenance is required.

Typical Equipment Worked On:
– Excavators
– Bulldozers
– Wheel loaders
– Motor graders
– Backhoe loaders
– Dump trucks
– Compactors and rollers
– Cranes

 Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance & Inspection:
Perform routine preventive maintenance (oil changes, filter replacements, lubrication).
Inspect engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with site regulations.

2. Diagnosis & Troubleshooting:
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
Use diagnostic tools and software for fault detection.
Interpret technical manuals and schematics.

3. Repair & Overhaul:
Repair or replace defective components (engines, gearboxes, hydraulic pumps).
Perform engine overhauls and major rebuilds.
Weld, fabricate, and modify machine parts when necessary.

4. Documentation:
Maintain service logs and maintenance records.
Prepare breakdown reports.
Recommend spare parts and repair schedules.

5. Safety Compliance:
Follow workplace safety standards.
Use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ensure machinery meets operational safety requirements.
