Job Title – Distribution Manager
Reporting Line – The Head, Supply Chain
Location – Kaduna State
 
Role Mission –
Responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers and stakeholders. This role involves managing the distribution process, optimizing warehouse operations, sourcing reliable transport vendors, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and minimizing costs while maximizing efficiency.
 
Key Responsibilities:
·      Product distribution from the warehouse to customers or internal departments.
·      Develop and implement efficient logistics strategies to ensure on-time delivery of products.
·      Supervise warehouse operations, ensuring adherence to international warehousing standards (FIFO, batch number arrangement, etc.).
·      Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring inventory is stored according to safety and quality standards.
·      Implement cost control measures using a cost analysis template to identify areas for reducing operational expenses.
·      Oversee trucking operations, ensuring trucks are well-maintained, routes are optimized, and delivery times are met.
·      Ensure all warehouse and distribution processes adhere to local and international regulations, including health, safety, and environmental standards.
·      Maintain open lines of communication regarding distribution performance and any issues impacting delivery timelines
·      Regular tracking report on distribution performance, vendor performance, warehouse efficiency, and cost control efforts.
·      Lead, train, and motivate the distribution team, ensuring adherence to company policies and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
 
Minimum Qualification and Experience
·      Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or related field required. A master’s degree, certifications, or cold chain logistics experience can be advantageous.
·      Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in logistics or supply chain roles and familiarity with food safety regulations and standards is crucial.
·      Hands-on experience in inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.
·      Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
·      Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
·      Knowledge of food safety standards and compliance requirements in food processing.
·      Familiarity with logistics software and tools.
