Job Title – Microwave Technical Engineer
Location – Lagos, Nigeria

Job Requirements
– On-site Installation Supervision – Supervise the installation of outdoor units (ODU), indoor units (IDU), and antenna at sites, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
– Equipment Commissioning & Activation – Perform parameter configuration including frequency allocation, polarization adjustment, and transmit power setting; able to use tools to deploy configuration scripts.
– Antenna Alignment & Optimization – Perform precise alignment of microwave antennas, optimize RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator), and ensure fade margin meets design requirements.
– Fault Diagnosis & Troubleshooting – Resolve microwave link failures (e.g., signal fading, frequency interference, ODU/IDU communication anomalies, high VSWR on feeders) and restore services within specified time limits.
– Site Survey & Plan Validation – Participate in site surveys, verify microwave line-of-sight (LOS) conditions, and propose link adjustment recommendations when necessary.

Job Requirements
– Education & Major – HND/BSC or above in Telecommunications, Electronic Information, Microwave Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
– Experience – 1–3 years of experience in microwave or base station equipment installation and commissioning. Prior experience independently completing microwave link commissioning is preferred.

Core Skills:
– Familiar with basic microwave transmission principles (line-of-sight, etc.).
– Proficient in installation and commissioning of at least one mainstream microwave equipment brand.
– Ability to read site drawings and link planning tables.

Certifications (Must):
– Holding an aerial work certificate (climbing certificate).

Personal Attributes
– Able to adapt to frequent travel and outdoor work, hardworking, with strong on-site communication and coordination skills.

Additional Qualifications
– Familiarity with high-frequency microwave equipment such as E-band (80GHz).
– Basic understanding of IP transport fundamentals (VLAN, routing, QoS).
