Job Description

Job Title – Credit Underwriting Officer (Salary & SME Finance)
Location – Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type – Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze loan applications (salary & SME)
Assess creditworthiness using financials, bank statements, and credit reports
Identify risks and apply internal scoring models
Structure loans (tenor, pricing, repayment) based on risk profile
Recommend approvals, declines, or modifications
Ensure compliance with credit policies and documentation standards
Collaborate with Sales and Collections to improve portfolio quality
KPIs
Approval turnaround time (TAT)
Portfolio quality (default/NPL rate)
Early delinquency rate
Compliance & documentation accuracy

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
2–5+ years in credit underwriting or risk analysis (salary & SME lending preferred)
Strong financial analysis and credit assessment skills
Good knowledge of lending regulations and credit policies
Proficiency in Excel and financial tools
Professional certifications (ACA, ACCA, CFA)
Experience with credit scoring systems or loan management platforms
Core Competencies:
Strong analytical and decision-making skills
High attention to detail and integrity
Good communication and stakeholder management
Ability to work under pressure.

Salary & Benefits
Salary – N350,000 – N400,000 per month.
