About AIFA Reading Society
AIFA Reading Society is a nonprofit dedicated to promoting literacy, a love of reading, and educational empowerment across communities. We design and implement programs that support reading culture, youth development, and community engagement.

Role Summary
The Programs Officer will play a pivotal role in driving AIFA Reading Society’s programmatic and communication activities. This is a dynamic position responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing programs, managing digital presence, curating newsletters, developing compelling content, supporting fundraising efforts, and shaping impact-based narrative through quality reports. The ideal candidate is creative, organised, results-driven, and passionate about literacy and community development.

Key Responsibilities
1. Program Planning, Coordination & Execution
• Support the design and implementation of literacy and community engagement programs.
• Coordinate logistics, schedules, and activities with internal teams, partners, and stakeholders.
• Monitor progress, troubleshoot challenges, and ensure timely delivery of program objectives.
• Track program metrics and collect data to inform planning and evaluation.
2. Social Media Management
• Develop and implement social media strategies across platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn).
• Create engaging posts, visuals, and short videos that align with the organisation’s mission and campaigns.
• Maintain content calendars and monitor audience engagement, growth analytics, and trends.
• Respond to audience interactions professionally and in alignment with brand voice.
3. Newsletter Curation
• Research, write, and curate content for regular newsletters (monthly/quarterly).
• Collaborate with contributors, partners, and program leads to source stories, updates, and impact highlights.
• Design and distribute newsletters using mailing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Substack).

Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Programme Management, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in program coordination, communications, or fundraising — NGO experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and project management abilities.
• Social media savvy with content creation and audience engagement experience.
• Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Premiere, CapCut) and graphic design basics.
