Job Description

Job Title – Project Accountant
Location – Ibadan
Employment Type – Full-time/Hybrid
Industry – Construction / Project-Based Operations

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Accountant to manage the financial aspects of our projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for budgeting, cost control, financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards throughout the project life-cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cash flow plans
Monitor project costs and track expenditures against approved budgets
Prepare periodic financial reports for management (daily, weekly, and monthly)
Process project-related payments, invoices, and expense claims
Ensure proper documentation and control of project financial records
Reconcile project accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly
Support audits and ensure compliance with financial and statutory requirements
Work closely with project managers, procurement, and site teams to ensure financial discipline
Identify cost-saving opportunities and financial risks on projects
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, ANAN) is an added advantage
Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Project Accountant or in a similar role
Strong knowledge of project costing, budgeting, and financial controls
Experience in construction or project-based environments is preferred
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail

Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Good communication and teamwork skills.
