Job Description

Job Title – Lead Maintenance Engineer
Location – Lagos

Main Tasks & Responsibilities
• Provide for direct technical support to clients through troubleshooting, technical advice via electronic means or direct participation on site
• Carry out inspections on client’s Kalmar equipment as per manufacturer’s guidelines
• Develop and offer spare parts recommendations to employer and clients
• Advise on necessary tooling and equipment to effectively service and repair Kalmar products
• Liaise with factory product support personnel for technical solutions
• Complete regular preventative maintenance as scheduled
• Communicate with customers regarding the diagnosis and repair problems experienced in the field
• Conduct product training for the customer and dealer technicians/operators to ensure competency Prepare and assist personnel in the field with documentation, report of labour, work orders, and inspections
• Evaluate, assist with and report on warranty claims
• Co-ordinate and assist with any factory directed corrective actions to equipment and provide report on completion
• Analyse technical issues and provide solutions
• Comply with OH&S policies and procedures in accordance with the law
• Ensure a safe working environment at all times
• Actively contribute to additional sales of service

Requirements
Experience
• A minimum of 5 years practical experience
• Experience in commissioning, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair of mechanical handling, port, industrial operations or crane industry sectors
• Experience in troubleshooting and repair of DC and AC (low and high voltage) electrical systems, electronics and PLC + control modules.
• Experience in delivering product technical & operator training
• Preferably have completed various Kalmar training programs and processes certification for Kalmar software.

Skills & Knowledge
• Ability to read and follow electrical & hydraulic schematic drawings
• Knowledge in fault finding and diagnostics of CANBUS Systems
• Knowledge in diagnosis and repair of hydraulic systems
• Knowledge in diagnosis and repair of electrical systems and electrical control systems
• Knowledge in diagnosis and repair of mechanical systems including welding and diesel engines.
• Intermediate to advanced level in Microsoft applications – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Excellent customer relationship skills
• Effective time management & administration skills
• People management and development skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal English)
• Excellent interpersonal skills (ability to deal with all stakeholders in the business)

Education
• Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualifications.
• Formal high school or degree qualification
• Experienced multi-skilled engineering experience with heavy plant equipment and working with Hydraulic Systems
