Job Title – Mud Engineer
Location – Rivers
Key Responsibilities
Design and maintain drilling fluid programs in line with well objectives and operational requirements.
Monitor, test, and adjust drilling fluid properties to optimize drilling performance.
Conduct routine laboratory testing and analysis of drilling fluids.
Prepare and submit daily mud reports and technical recommendations.
Monitor fluid consumption and inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted operations.
Troubleshoot drilling fluid-related issues and recommend corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and industry standards.
Coordinate with drilling supervisors, rig personnel, and other stakeholders to achieve operational objectives.
Support well planning activities and provide technical input on drilling fluid requirements.
Maintain accurate records of mud products, treatments, and operational performance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related discipline.
6–10 years’ proven experience as a Mud Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
Strong knowledge of water-based, oil-based, and synthetic-based drilling fluid systems.
Experience working on onshore and/or offshore drilling operations.
Proficiency in drilling fluid testing, reporting, and inventory management.
Good understanding of drilling operations, wellbore stability, and fluid hydraulics.
Preferred Qualifications:
IWCF, IADC, HSE, or other relevant industry certifications.
Experience working with major oilfield service companies or drilling contractors.
Knowledge of drilling software and mud reporting systems.
