About the Role
We are looking for a mission-driven AI Engineer to lead the development and deployment of life-saving AI models. You won’t just be writing code — you will be building systems that predict pregnancy risks, optimise vaccination schedules, and provide medical guidance to thousands of mothers across the continent.

Key Responsibilities
Model Development
Design, train, and fine-tune machine learning models with a focus on Natural Language Processing (NLP) for chatbots and Predictive Analytics for health risk stratification

LLM Optimisation
Lead the further development of MamaBot-Llama, focusing on fine-tuning open-source LLMs (e.g. Llama 3) to provide localised and medically accurate health advice

Deployment & Scaling
Architect and maintain scalable AI pipelines using cloud infrastructure (AWS / Azure / GCP) to ensure tools work reliably in low-bandwidth environments

Data Strategy
Work with field teams to clean and preprocess unique maternal health datasets, ensuring data integrity and quality
