JOB TITLE – COMPLIANCE OFFICER
Location – Lagos, Nigeria
Sector – Financial Services | Digital Banking

Job Summary
The Compliance Officer will be responsible for supporting the bank’s day-to-day regulatory compliance activities, ensuring that all business operations, products, and customer onboarding processes remain fully aligned with applicable laws, CBN guidelines, and AML/CFT standards.

*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*

• Monitor and ensure compliance with CBN regulations, NFIU directives, and AML/CFT requirements across all banking operations.
• Conduct KYC and customer due diligence reviews, including enhanced due diligence for high-risk customers.
• Review and flag suspicious transactions and file Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) to the NFIU.
• Support the review and update of the bank’s compliance policies, procedures, and risk assessments.
• Conduct staff awareness training on AML/CFT, KYC, and regulatory compliance topics.
• Assist in the preparation of regulatory returns and reports to the CBN, NDIC, and other authorities.
• Monitor regulatory developments and advise management on new compliance obligations.
• Maintain a regulatory calendar and ensure all filing deadlines are met.
• Support the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer in preparing for and managing regulatory examinations.

*REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS*

• Minimum of a first degree in Law, Accounting, Finance, or any relevant discipline.
• At least 3 years of compliance experience within a bank, fintech, or regulated financial institution.
• Good understanding of CBN regulations, BOFIA, AML/CFT legislation, and KYC standards.
• Professional certifications: CAMS, ICA Certificate in AML, or CIBN compliance qualification is an advantage.
• Familiarity with compliance monitoring tools and core banking systems.
• Excellent documentation, reporting, and organisational skills.
• High ethical standards and discretion in handling sensitive regulatory matters.
